For the 2 people who watched Secret Princes with me… thoughts on the finale…
Sal & Alison - ugh. They seriously made me want to cry. At the end when he was filmed talking about her, my heart legit broke for him. He was so sad! But honestly, I didn’t see it working. They knew each other for 2 seconds and she seems like a pretty independent girl who wouldn’t just throw her law degree away and move to India. It also seemed like she was super uncomfortable when all those people were waiting on her and helping her get dressed. It just didn’t seem like the right lifestyle. Out of all of the girls he came across though, Alison seemed to be the most genuine and I loved how when he was “testing” her, she offered to pay the bill when he didn’t have enough money.
Tate & Jasmine - Are they adorable or what? Unlike Ludo, he really seems like his friends give zero shits about class divide and she seems like she’s got a good head on her shoulders so I HOPE they will work out. It seems like they will. And honestly, good for her! She seemed really kind and genuine too so I hope she gets her fairy tale ending and gets to live the life.
Cisco & Camille - These two are super cute too. Cisco was one of my faves on the show from the beginning. He was just super laid back and wasn’t snobby. Lord Robert kind of seemed to have douchy undertones… didn’t you think so? Anyway, it seems like her trip to the homeland went well and they seem like they’re really into each other and while I totally want this to work out for them, I think her being a single mom is going to be a problem. If it were anyone else and any other family, it wouldn’t be a big deal and honestly, deep down, I don’t think Cisco actually cares, BUT… I think his family will have a problem with it. They’re strict Catholics and she’d be marrying into the royal family of Spain. Do you think the royal family of Spain would be cool with setting her daughter up for life? Probs not. And honestly, he did say that his Dad would strip his title if he didn’t like the girl. It would be interesting to see how this one plays out. I really like them together though so fingers crossed.
Ludo and Melissa - What a hot mess. I was rooting for Ludo because he quickly became a favorite of mine on the show. He was so funny, but still pretty shy and he seemed like the underdog (even moreso than Sal) so I really wanted it to work out for him. There was so much that was awkward from the beginning. Like how they went on ONE date where he asked her to arm wrestle before he reveals himself at the ball. It seemed like maybe he was just pressured to find someone… ANYONE to take back to England with him. Did anyone find it weird that she basically showed up to Downton Abbey with a full reception (trumpets and errrthang) wearing PJ pants? I get that it’s a long plane ride, but damn. Anyway, his house is amazing and his backyard is a mini version of the gardens of Versailles and she’s all like “HECK YES!” And then she meets his friends. Ugh, his friends were the worst. That one guy who kept asking her questions like “do you have a gardener” or “what is the acreage of your house?” was such a douchelord (pun intended). And the girl who straight up asked her if her boobs were real at the dinner table? REALLY?! I guess money can’t really buy you class, right Countess LuAnn? Ugh, I felt so bad for her because they were literally slaying her and only talking about class and materialism. He didn’t even stand up for her - it was awful. I’m so glad she called the guy out and was basically like wow “you’re a dick and an a-hole!” Ludo seemed like such a nice guy so I’m surprised his friends were like this, but then again, in real life I get the feeling he could be a doormat so I wonder if they keep him around because of his title and because they’re supposed to be friends with him. Who knows. It’s so weird because his Dad was so cool, you’d think he’d find better people to associate with. Anyway, I’m glad that Melissa stuck up for herself and was basically like “have some drive and don’t live off of your parent’s money.” He seemed sad about it, but honestly, I don’t think anyone expected it to work.
Anyway, after watching Secret Princes for a whole season, I’m just waiting for Matt to tell me he’s the heir to like some random estate in England. Any day now, Matt.
