There are a million weddings to attend this year as everyone is getting married. I’m going to be in a friend’s wedding coming up and while I was just told not too long ago, we have to get the ball moving because time is running out.

I got an email the other day about buying a bridesmaids dress. It has to be purple and the fabric has to be shiny like satin.

You should have seen my face when I read this. Everyone who knows me knows I hardly wear color ever (I’m too obsessed with neutrals to deviate… boring, I know) and I for sure don’t wear shiny fabric.

BUT…

It’s my friend and it’s her big day and even if she wanted me to wear a plastic trash bag, I’d wear it.

So I was kind of not so happy about the idea of having to spend $150 on a dress that I for sure would NEVER wear again. I even checked ebay to see if they had dresses by the designer in the color she told us to wear and while they did, they didn’t have my size. Time was running out so I knew I had to order soon.

Turns out, over lunch with my friend yesterday, I was telling her about my dilemma and she told me that her bridesmaids wore that color and fabric and that I could probably just borrow one from one of them and she’d ask.

I just got a text saying all was good to go. The dress in the size, color, and fabric the bride asked for at no cost to me except for maybe shipping.

Problem solved! I have the dress I need and I didn’t have to pay $150 for something I would never wear!
